CANCELATION POLICY

All clients are required to give at least 24 hours advanced notice when canceling any appointment to avoid a 50% cancelation fee, 48 hours is required for Saturday appointments or any combination of more than one appointment booked for the same day (ex. a massage and facial, two facials, two massages or any combination of services book for a single or multiple clients together as a group under a single profile or multiple together)

A missed appointment is defined as any appointment for which a client does not arrive for as scheduled ("no show"), or is canceled without a minimum of 24 hours notice , 48 hours for multiple appointments or Saturday appointments.(same day cancelation).

Failure to give notice by giving no notice at all ("No Show") will result in a penalty of 100% of the booked services charged to the card on file.

Clients with an outstanding balance of missed appointment fees will NOT be allowed to schedule another appointment until the balance is paid in full.

This policy is in place to protect our staff, as they are paid by the services they provide, when an appointment is canceled or a no show occurs and they do not have ample time to rebook another client, they are not paid. This creates a hardship for them and as such we have to ensure that they have every opportunity to avoid that loss.

We will make every attempt to rebook the canceled appointments, if we are able to fill a cancelled appointment- we will refund the cancellation charge. Therefore the more notice we have the better our chances are of filling the spot.

Please Note: That rescheduling an appointment within 24 or 48 hours of a booked appointment does not waive the cancellation fee. We have reserved this time for you and if we are unable to fill the appointment our cancellation fee will be charged.

FACIAL FAQ’S

Our mission is to provide each client with a customized, relaxing and effective treatment. We work with each client to provide specific treatments that will nourish and maintain your healthy skin.

Which facial should I book?

This is the most frequently asked question we get, and with good reason. All of our facials, with the exception of the express facials are 90 minutes. Our estheticians will evaluate your skin and work with you to determine the best facial for you. If this is your first visit and your uncertain wich facial to book, it is best to book for our Seaweed facial and we can discuss specific concerns you have and what facial and treatments are best for you at your appointment. Our estheticans will make sure you leave looking and feeling great and on the path the the results you desire.

How long before an event should I book my facial?

We would love to prepare your skin for your special event. During your facial, we can recommend other treatments, packages and products to get your skin ready for your big day! We do not recommend any type of waxing or facial service less than 10 days prior to an event.

Will my skin break out after a facial?

Facials detoxify, lifting impurities to the surface. Breakouts generally do not happen, but can occur and typically disappear within a week. Be sure to alert your esthetician to any medications like retinoids, antibiotics, allergies or products your skin has reacted to in the past. Also note that diet, stress, lack of sleep and hormone imbalance play into breakouts. Be mindful of toxins such as sugar, alcohol and caffeine that can contribute to problematic skin. Drink plenty of water to keep toxins flushed and skin hydrated.

Will my skin be red and irritated after a facial?

It is possible for your skin to be red from the steam and extractions.. Depending on the level of exfoliation used, your skin can also feel slightly itchy, dry and tight for a few days after. Stay hydrated and moisturize skin as directed. Be mindful of your diet and drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated.

Do I need to wash my face prior to a facial? No

Will facials fix my acne, scarring, wrinkles and or hyperpigmentation? Facials will improve the skin, giving it a more healthy texture and vibrant appearance. Regularly scheduled facials, home care and other factors will keep improve your skins appearance, but it may take some time and commitment. Our estheticians will work with you to develop a customized treatment that is specific to your skins needs.

Can I wear makeup right after the facial?

If possible, it is best to let your skin breathe and absorb all of the nutrients from your treatment.

How do I care for my skin after my facial?

We generally recommend being gentle with your skin after treatment. Do not exfoliate for at least 5 days after your facial. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and applying the proper moisturizer and sunscreen. We can also recommend products to use at home to keep your skin glowing!

How often should I get facials?

Once a month for the best results, however if that is not in your budget, we highly recommend investing in a good skin care regimen for home and coming as often as you can for facials.

Should I have a facial if I have sensitive skin?

Yes. There are many factors involved in sensitive skin and sometimes a facial service can help determine through diagnosis what you can do at home to both offer relief for you current state as well as prevent your condition from worsening.

**Can I have a facial if I am pregnant? **

Yes. But there are certain products we would not use when you are pregnant. .We will work with you to give you the perfect facial when pregnant, just be sure to let our esthetician know at the time of your service.

Can I get waxing done during my facial?

Yes. This is very common and very easy to accommodate.

What are the benefits of exfoliation?

• Dries out active acne • Reduces shallow wrinkling and scarring • Lightens hyper pigmented areas (dark patches) • Improves the appearance and health of sun damaged and aged skin

MICRODERMABRASION FAQ'S

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew skin tone and texture. It is most commonly used to improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.

How is Microdermabrasion Done?

Microdermabrasion uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it. It is considered to be very safe. • fine lines and wrinkles • hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots • enlarged pores and blackheads • acne and acne scars • stretch marks • dull-looking skin complexion • uneven skin tone and texture • sun damage

What do I need to do prior to a Microdermabrasion treatment?

There’s very little you need to do to prepare for microdermabrasion. You should discuss your skin concerns with a Face Studio Esthetician to find out if microdermabrasion is right for you. Discuss any past cosmetic procedures and surgeries, as well as allergies and medical conditions. You may be told to avoid sun exposure, tanning creams, and waxing for about a week before treatment. You may also be advised to stop using exfoliating creams and masks approximately three days prior to treatment. Remove any makeup and cleanse your face before your treatment

Are there any side effects to Microdermabrasion?

Some common side effects of microdermabrasion might include mild tenderness, swelling, and redness. These should go away within a few hours after treatment.

What should I expect after micodermabrasion?

The results are generally immediately seen. There is no reason to not resume your regular routines.
It is sometimes reccomened to avoid using topical acne medications for at least one day after a microdermabrasion treatment. Your skin can be more sensitive to the sun in the few weeks after the treatment, so sunscreen is reccomended.

WAXING FAQ'S

Can I get a waxed when Pregnant?

Yes. Just be sure to mention this to your esthetician so that we can provide you the best possible service.
Will medications and allergies effect my wax? Please tell you esthetician if you are taking any medicines or allegies we should be aware of. Antibiotics and topical acne medicines (Accutane, Differin, Retina A, Prednisone or Corticisteroids) can make your skin more sensitive to waxing.

How long should my hair be for waxing?

Ideally, ¼” or longer is best for waxing.
Should I shave in between waxing appointments? Shaving will cause the hair to thicken. Please avoid trimming or shaving between visits. We can help you to determine the right waxing frequency for you. That way you’ll never have to worry about shaving or trimming again.

What age do I need to be to get waxed?

We welcome people of all ages. Although if you are under 18 we ask that you bring a parent or guardian for your first visit.

Will waxing cause my hair to grow back thicker?

Waxing does just the opposite; hair will grow back with a finer texture. Regular waxing will make it even easier. I got a sunburn, should I still get a wax? If you experience a sunburn, its best to wait until the burn subsides before your wax.

What can I expect from a brow shaping? Our estheticians are experts at shaping brows that will be perfect for you! Regular appointments will keep them looking great. How long should I expect for a Brazilian Wax appointment? Or estheticians will get you in and out in less than 30 minutes for a Brazilian Wax

Can I get a Spray Tan or head to the beach after waxing?

If you’re planning a trip to the beach immediately after your waxing appointment, you should use some sunscreen. Waxing can cause your skin to be a bit more sensitive. If you can wait 48 hours, that is ideal. Spray Tanning should not be done before or immediately after a waxing. We can work with you to schedule both a spray tan and a wax appointment at the appropriate intervals to keep you looking great for an event or every day needs.

How frequently should I schedule my waxing appointments?

This will vary for everyone, most of our clients visit between every 3 – 6 weeks for wax appointments. Your esthetician can work with you to get you on a schedule that will fit your individual needs. Generally, to start you can expect to visit about once every 4 weeks.

What should I wear to my waxing appointment?

This will depend on the waxing service you are coming for, you may want to wear looser more comfortable clothing for Brazilian and Bikini waxes. For brow and other face waxing services, this is not as much of a concern.

How soon before a special event should I get waxed?

It is best to start waxing with us 4-6 weeks prior to your special event so that your skin has time to adjust to the wax.

Do you offfer brazilian waxing?

Yes, we offer Brazilian waxing at Face Studio

Can I get a lash tint or brow tint added to a waxing service?

Yes, we can add a lash tint or brow tint to a waxing or facial service or as separate appointment. You can add it when booking online or with us directly.

SPRAY TANNING FAQ'S

What should I expect from a Spray Tan?

Your Organic Spray Tan will be applied by a Face | Studio Esthetician. We will provide a color consultation to determine the perfect solution for your skin tone and desired results.

Can I get a Spray Tan if I am under 18?

Yes, we just ask that you bring a parent or guardian with you for your first appointment.

How long does it take to get a spray tan?

We will have you in and out looking great in less than 30 minutes.

Who will be applying my Spray Tan?

At Face | Studio your spray tan will be applied by one of our female estheticians that are experienced and trained in the use of our spray tan equipment. We have a separate, private room specifically designed for spray tanning. This allows us to provide you the best spray tan in the best space.

Does a spray tan look fake or orange?

We have a variety of color options available; none of them look fake or orange! We work with the highest quality products to give you the best spray tan experience.

What to avoid after a spray tan?

After your spray tan is completed, it will set. Avoid contact with water or any products until your spray tan has fully set. You will want to avoid, makeup, moisturizers, showers and work outs or strenuous activities that may cause you to sweat.

Will I ruin my spray tan if I sleep while it sets?

If your spray tan is done later in the day or evening, you will want to wear a long sleeve top and pants to bed,

How long does a spray tan last?

You should expect your spray tan to last 5 to 7 days.

What should I do before a spray tan?

Make sure you have removed all makeup, lotions and deodorant. Waxing and shaving should be done the day before.

What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?

Loose fitting clothing is best. We provide robes and a private room specificcally designed for spray tanning so your privacy is assured. Women can be spray tanned in whatever they are most comfortable in, men must wear a swim suit or shorts.

MASSAGE THERAPY FAQ'S

What should I expect at my first massage therapy appointment Our massage therapists will require you to fill out a health history form. Our massage therapist will work with you on specific areas of concern.

Please list all health concerns and medications so the therapist can modify the session to your specific needs. It is also important that they are aware of any allergies.

Do I have to undress completely

You should undress to the level you are comfortable. For a full body massage, most get completely undressed. However, if you will be more comfortable during the session if you leave your underwear on, that's fine. Our massage therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as he/she can.

Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table.

**How often should I get a massage **

Ideally every 3-6 weeks.

What is a Swedish Massage?

Swedish Based Relaxation Massage is a classic massage for those seeking relaxation. It involves long sweeping strokes applied with light to medium pressure. This massage will improve circulation, help to release toxins in your system and boost your immunity. Also helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness. Pressure will be adjusted as needed in specific areas of tightness and/or injury.

What is a Deep Tissue Massage

A Deep Tissue Massage concentrates on deeper layers of muscles. Your massage therapist uses oils to relax the top layers of muscle. This type of massage is popular with people that have chronic aches and pains

What is a Hot Stone Massage?

Hot Stone Massage uses hot stones to deeply penetrate heat to soothe muscles and melt away tension. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation

What is Cupping?

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine. Updating this technique, silicone cups will be placed on your skin in a problem area creating a suction. The cups will be moved in a gliding motion over the area to eliminate or greatly reduce any marking on your skin. People get cupping for many purposes including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Which makeup service should I book for a, night out or a special event? Our 45 minute makeup application is the perfect way to get ready for your special event. Our makeup artist will get you looking your best!

What does a 60 minute makeup lesson include?

During this 60 minute session, we will guide you through detailed makeup application, showing you tips and techniques that will enhance your natural beauty. Using mineral-based makeup, we will help determine the best colors for your face shape and tone. Perfect for occasions when you want to look extra special.

**Do you offer false lashes? **

Face Studio offers False Lash Applications for $20.00.

I need to update my make-up, can someone help me determine what makeup products would be best for me?

Our makeup bag refresh is a great way to update your look.Bring your current makeup bag and our makeup artist will work with you to refresh your look and update your makeup bag.

Do you offer Prom make-up?

Yes, our makeup artists will get you ready for the prom. We offer options for makeup only and an option to add false lashes.

**I want to get a group of friends together for a makeup party? Is that an option? **

Yes! We offer a Group Makeup Party- max 8 -$30 per person. Up to two hours at Face Studio for groups of 8 women to work with our makeup artist on specific makeup needs. Each person will have 15 minutes with our makeup artist.
